The infection from my body rejecting the stitches is still not under control.
My left ear is not being nice either, probably due to my sinuses being full.
I'm taking so many pills a day, for allergies and sinus relief, but nothing seems to help.
I'm frustrated, but hoping every tomorrow will be better.
Just heard from the doc. He wants me top come in immediately.
To be continued.......

Life is a Journey. We all change, grow and evolve with each experienced and life lesson. It's important to set an u changeable moral code and base every other truth ag as inst that moral code. Mine is God's word. My core value is LOVE. And that includes loving yourself. The Bible says, love others as yourself. It doesn't say instead of yourself. If you don't love yourself, you are not capable of loving others.

Marley and Debby
If you've been following my journey, You probably have already figured out, it is one Marley and I are on together. I love my canine companion. She brings joy in every situation.
I'm currently on antibiotics for an infection. It's external, so the device is ok.
This morning I woke up feeling determined, so I decided to take a walk around the neighborhood. A few weeks ago I swallowed my pride and purchased a walker. Ugh! I'll be going to Vegas in 2 weeks and I anticipate waiting in long lines, so I'll have a seat to rest on.
Back to the walk..... Marley seemed relieved to not be responsible for my balance. But she still was on the alert for my safety.
Since I had the walker, I took the opportunity to do some PT. Looking left to right while walking. Oh My! this is going to take some time. Nausea is REAL!! LOL
I was concentrating on my walking and crossed the one and only street in our circle. Marley stopped me and looked left and right before we ventured out.
We also passed a family of cranes and Marley didn't not even change her stride. 3 years ago, she would have chased them and caused them to fly away. Today we passed the family and they were not stirred at all.
I get brain fog often, but now that Marley knows left and right, she will take me in the correct direction even if I go the wrong way. LOL
I am going to take break until my stomach settles, but then I've got big plans for the day.
I'm making custom Tshirts for the Paparazzi Convention, have orders to ship, and a house to clean. And that is just the start.
I'm going to get back to a productive life! You can bet on it!!
I was planning on inserting pictures, but my PC was fried in recent storms. I am among everything else, learning how to navigate on my new laptop. We'll get there.
Peace!

She can roll over!
YES! I can roll over in bed now, which means the swelling in my neck and face are down.
I'm only taking pain meds 2-3 times a day and sleeping through the night.
I still get dizzy with turning my head, but the surgeon said to give that 3 weeks to taper off.
I'd love to get in my pool, but I'm just not ready yet. I know I can get in, but probably not out.
My housework keeps piling up, but I guess it can wait.

Find Joy where you are!
As I was sitting on a beach chair in the water on Sunday, I felt awesome! Being In warm water with the sun shining brightly in the sky is my happy place.
The beach was crowded, along with the water offshore.
People of all ages were frolicking in the waves. I longed to be floating on a tube out in the deep, but I'm not ready for that. At this moment, just sitting in the chair with the water splashing up my legs was a victory.

People of all ages were frolicking in the waves. I longed to be floating on a tube out in the deep, but I'm not ready for that. At this moment, just sitting in the chair with the water splashing up my legs was a victory.
I watched families laughing together as they splashed in the waves.
There was a small boy that kept running near me to fill a blue pail with water. I'm sure he was building a sand castle. His sweet face warmed my heart. I gave him a smile each time he filled his pail. Soon I should be able to have a conversation with children. But for now I can smile.
Then God arranged a special blessing. Lifeguards on ATV'S stopped a few yards from me and plunged into the water. There was a crane out In the water with a bad wing
The lifeguards rescued it and carried it off so they could tend to its injury.
That is a rare moment to witness.
I'm hoping in a few weeks, I'll be out in the deeper water with my waterproof processor and my snorkeling gear, hearing life around me.
But for today, I found joy in what was given to me.
More Joy awaits when I'm ready.
I know you have dreams for the future. And you should always be reaching for more. But as you're reaching, don't miss out on the joy of your Now.
Be Blessed!

12 days post surgery
Dale and I spent the weekend near Clearwater Beach for our Anniversary. 34 years married and 37 since I met the love of my life. Let's just say he's had lots of experience with this"in sickness" part ;)
The vacation was planned long before the surgery. We considered cancelling, but decided I may as well recover a few days in a nice hotel instead of at home.
Dale is always the best, but Marley was AMAZING!!! she helped me walk and watched every move I made. While walking, she is constantly looking up to check on me. When I stop, she stops and waits patiently until I can continue on.
She even looks both ways before crossing the street.
We made our way down to the beach (my happy place)
Because of the extreme heat, Dale took Marley back to the hotel roo. And returned with a beach chair.
I sat in the water on the chair about 30 minutes until watching the waves made me feel sick.
When I returned to the room, Marley greeted me at the door and returned to duty.
That was all I could do for the weekend, but the accommodations were great, comfortable king sized bed and a change from my neglected housekeeping at home.
After check out, we drove to my brother's house. He grilled steak and baked potatoes and I dipped my feet in his pool
On the way home, we stopped at my moms to check on her. Mom stress is the worst thing for
health right now.
Resurrecting my blog
Hello Friends,
There have been numerous times in my life, I've thought, I should be blogging this. Many serious, stressful, life changing, inspirational and even humorous events.some ongoing and some just happen randomly.
Anyway, my most recent journey is a Cochlear implant I had done on June 12th. I've been sharing my story on Facebook. But have decided to move it here.
This blog had a different but I have changed it to just me.
HOPEFULLY I can keep this going and my life can bring a few smiles to your face.
Life is and adventure. This will be record of mine.

Cell Phone Found
Have you ever lost your cellphone?
I have, many times. But, it has always turned up somewhere eventually.
I've learned to trust God, who cares for me.
He knows my weaknesses and always has my back.
Last Wednesday I was getting dressed and slipped my phone into my back pocket. As I did so I remembered, these are the shorts that my phone always falls out of. But, I didn't plan to go anywhere today, so I ignored the thought and went about my day.
Several hours later, I realized I needed something from the store so without much thought I grabbed my purse and hopped in the van.
First I went to the pharmacy and then the grocery store before returning home. It was less then a 2 mile trip total.
Back to my cleaning, I soon realized my phone was missing. hmmmm, I checked the places I had been in, and out of the house, but it was nowhere to be found.
After about 15 minutes of searching, I settled in the recliner to relax and retrace my steps mentally.
Approximately 30 minutes after I discovered the phone was gone, Dale walks in the door and announces, "I found your phone!"
What a wonderful surprise! Not only was he home early, but to my knowledge he didn't even know my phone was missing.
It was warm and a bit scuffed, so my first thought was it was dropped in the driveway.
But that was not so.
After talking to Dale I have retraced the path my phone must have taken to find it's way back to me.
Some where in my 2 mile round trip, it fell out of my pocket. Then it was picked up by a stranger and they headed on there way in their vehicle. After playing with the phone a bit they decided it was a cheap useless phone, or there was no information they could gain from it. So, they tossed it out the window about 10 miles down the road.
Next, a family got a flat tire and pulled over to the side of the road to fix it. Their young boy was playing around in the grass and spotted my phone. They got back on the road with my phone and spotted a Verizon store. They had noticed my phone was from Verizon, so they pulled in and gave it to the sales clerk.
The sales clerk called my emergency contacts and reached Dale. Dale was on the road headed home, so he made a slight detour to pick up the phone before coming home.
And THAT is how my phone was returned to me in less than an hour from the time it was lost.
Do you really believe all of that happened by CHANCE? I don't.

Change your direction!
Do you look up to God? Of course you do. I know I do. The Bible tells us to lift our hands to him in praise. But, I heard in my spirit today that sometimes we need to change our direction.
Do you need guidance? Try looking to the right? Let me explain.
Luke22:69
(Jesus said)
But from now on the Son of Man shall be seated at the right hand of the power of God.”
and then in
Ephesians 2:4-6
4 But[c] God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, 5 even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— 6 and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,
If Jesus is seated at the right hand of the Power of God, and we are seated WITH HIM, where does that put us? Sounds to me like we're on his lap.
Now that's Power! Sitting on Jesus's lap at the right hand of God!
My, Oh My! Look to the Right!

Look on the Bright side.
Look on the Bright side. It's the side you can't always see, but if you have faith, your eyes will slowly adjust.

What's on the menu?
When you go to a restaurant, you can't just go sit at the table and get what you want. You have to make choices based on what is available. And you find out what is available by looking at the menu. After you've looked at the menu you make your selections and tell the waiter or waitress what you would like. You're waitperson has been assigned to you by the owner of the restaurant or it's manager to serve your needs. They are required to deliver to you what you ask for. It doesn't matter what you are like, good, bad or ugly, they are assigned to do their job! And you will get what you want as long as it is included in the menu.
Now, you can make special requests not written in the menu, as long as it is a variation of what is offered. But anything outside of what is written cannot be delivered to you. If you ask your waitress to bring you something written in the menu, they MUST bring it to you. BUT if you ask for snails and snails are not available. Your waitress will not be able to accomodate you not matter how hard you insist. He/She will be waiting for you to ask for something they CAN deliver.
So what is my point?
You, as a Christian, Child of God, Born again Believer have Angels assigned to you! They are servants of God, sent to minister to your needs. And your menu is the Bible, The Word of God, The book of Promises available to you! But, they are only available to you, if you know what they are! You must read the book to know what is on the menu! And then you have to SPEAK what you want. Your angels will hear your order and work to fulfill your requests. You can't just go sit in the church and expect the Kingdom of God to fall upon you. You have to Speak and Believe. If you do not place an order, your angels will have nothing to do.
There is another menu. That is the menu the world offers. And the ruler of this world intends to kill, steal and destroy. The world is currently experiencing the effects of a hurricane/storm named Sandy. The weathermen, newscasters and public have been talking for days about how terrible this storm would be. The number one topic in social media and conversation was the devastation this storm would bring. And it did for many. People believed the reports and talked about it. And their words came true. They were placing their orders from the world's menu.
I have a friend who told me that she is surrounded by devastation on all sides, but her little community remained untouched. (He that is in you, is Greater than he that is in the world)
Psalm 91 is one of my favorite chapters in the Bible. many of you know that I was impressive to pray this numerous times on the day that my son had a terrible car accident. And I prayed verse 11 repeatedly specifically for him. I did not know at the time why this was so important, but God was leading me to claim this protection for him that day.
When storms like Sandy are a threat, I encourage to claim verse 7. Make it your order for the day.
Be Blessed!
Choose the menu you will live by and keep your angels busy serving you.

Psalm 91
NKJV
91 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High
Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress;
My God, in Him I will trust.”
Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress;
My God, in Him I will trust.”
3 Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler[a]
And from the perilous pestilence.
4 He shall cover you with His feathers,
And under His wings you shall take refuge;
His truth shall be your shield and buckler.
5 You shall not be afraid of the terror by night,
Nor of the arrow that flies by day,
6 Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness,
Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.
And from the perilous pestilence.
4 He shall cover you with His feathers,
And under His wings you shall take refuge;
His truth shall be your shield and buckler.
5 You shall not be afraid of the terror by night,
Nor of the arrow that flies by day,
6 Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness,
Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.
7 A thousand may fall at your side,
And ten thousand at your right hand;
But it shall not come near you.
8 Only with your eyes shall you look,
And see the reward of the wicked.
And ten thousand at your right hand;
But it shall not come near you.
8 Only with your eyes shall you look,
And see the reward of the wicked.
9 Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge,
Even the Most High, your dwelling place,
10 No evil shall befall you,
Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling;
11 For He shall give His angels charge over you,
To keep you in all your ways.
12 In their hands they shall bear you up,
Lest you dash your foot against a stone.
13 You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra,
The young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot.
Even the Most High, your dwelling place,
10 No evil shall befall you,
Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling;
11 For He shall give His angels charge over you,
To keep you in all your ways.
12 In their hands they shall bear you up,
Lest you dash your foot against a stone.
13 You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra,
The young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot.
14 “Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him;
I will set him on high, because he has known My name.
15 He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble;
I will deliver him and honor him.
16 With long life I will satisfy him,
And show him My salvation.”
I will set him on high, because he has known My name.

Listen to His Voice
When Jesus walked the earth, he had a mission. That was to bring God's children back into the family. We were separated from Him through sin. Jesus is The example of a perfect Christian life.
Did Jesus ever break the church rules? Yup, quite often. He healed on the Sabbath, which was considered "work" in that day. But He did so for Love.
One day He was on the way to heal a sick girl. this man was in a panic for his daughter's life. While on the way, a woman touched the hem of his garment and Jesus stopped! Can you imagine how the father felt? What did Jesus say to him. Don't fear, but Believe only!
He took time to minister to the woman with the issue of blood and encourage her. "Your Faith has healed you" Then he continued on his Journey.
Have you ever been on your way to church and had someone interrupt you with a need? What did you do? Did you address that person, or say "I can't now, I'll be late for church"
What would Jesus have done?
My Bible says "Honor the Sabbath"
I have not found these rules.
Be to church on time
Never miss a service
Don't get me wrong. Being accountable is a great character.
My point is don't put your "Character"
or your religious rules ahead of Love.
God is Love!
Do not live by the "letter of the law" and ignore the heart of the law.
Love all those that God puts in your path
And most of all LISTEN to your heart. As born again believers, Jesus lives in our hearts and speaks to us all the time. He will tell you if you need to stop, go, reverse, or change course. He is with us to guide us every step of the way.
I was planning to go to a ministry service on Saturday. I was unable to go, but instead I had a very nice day home with my daughter and husband. I could have pushed myself to the limit to make it to that meeting, but instead, I changed my plans and was Blessed for it.
I'm sure all those who attended the meeting were Blessed for being there. But, God treats us all as individuals and has unique plans for all of us. Isn't that Great! I guess that's why he stresses not to judge others. God doesn't expect the same things from you, that He does from your neighbor.
He Loves us all uniquely. Isn't that wonderful!

What would Love do?
Many times in life we are faced with difficult decisions. How do you choose when you want to do what's right, but just aren't sure what the right thing is. A common phrase is "What would Jesus do?" But, do we always know what He would do? The Bible is filled with examples of what Jesus did in different situations. But it may be a challenge to apply His ways to a specific situation in our lives.
Jesus and God are One and the same. Although God is Father, and Jesus is Son, they are still One, just like husband and wife become one through the act of marriage.
Knowing this, and the fact that God is Love, and we as children of God are commanded to walk in Love, I remember the phrase "What would Love do?"
This past week, I was faced with a difficult decision.
My daughter was Blessed to be chosen as Maid of Honor in a close friends wedding. She helped with the planning all along the way and the big day was drawing near. My husband and I very much wanted to be there. The challenge was, The wedding was in Wisconsin and we now live in Florida. Due to financial and scheduling considerations, we regrettably told our daughter we would not be able to attend.
Just days before the wedding my heart ached for her. I had not been feeling well, but the thought of missing my daughter's role in her friends wedding hurt deep within me. I asked Dale if there was a way we could make this happen. He asked me if I was having second thoughts on our decision. We have been married 26 years and Dale has gotten very good at reading my heart. And I also knew he wanted to attend just as badly as I did. The love for a child makes a parent want to move mountains. (Keep this in mind when you think of God's Love for you!)
That evening Dale booked our flights and arranged for the car rental. We were now financially committed to go.
I mentioned I wasn't feeling well. I had spent most of Monday in bed and tuesday was no better. Hoping to bounce back before Friday we continued with our plans and called the Bride to let her know. As the week progressed I was feeling much worse instead of better. Thursday morning I woke up to a significant drop in my hearing. Which of course would make the trip even more difficult. (When you are walking in Love and making tough decisions in spite of how things look, you will meet resistance from the enemy of Love)
Friday morning Dale woke me up early. I felt the worst ever. The nausea and dizziness was intense accompanied by a headache. Typically I would take my meds and hug my pillow all day, but we had a mission to get to the wedding. I dragged myself out of bed and into the shower. Washed my hair as quickly as possible and got dressed before allowing myself a few more minutes on the pillow. My wonderful husband always comes through for me! He packed all my things along with his. When it was time to leave, I hopped in the car and we headed for the airport. This was the most difficult flight I had ever experienced, but thankfully my new medicine caused me to sleep for most of the flight,
Wisconsin greeted us with a mild winter day and a gentle snowfall. We picked up the rental car and drove to our hotel. I quickly climbed under the covers of the hotel bed and took a much longed for nap.
When I opened my eyes, Dale had to remind me where we were and what we were doing there. LOL! He had arranged to have dinner with Steve and Nicole that evening.
I was feeling a bit better so, we drove to Madison to meet our son and daughter. Steve brought his girlfriend along and the 5 of us had a wonderful time enjoying each others company. The chance to spend time with my other children had already made it worth the trip.
Dale drove us back to the hotel and again sleep came very quickly for me.
The first thing I noticed in the morning was that my previous symptoms had disappeared. My stomach was calm, the dizziness subsided and my hearing had even returned to what is normal for me. It was going to be a glorious day!'
We also heard that numerous cars had been broken into overnight and many were robbed. Dale checked outside and our vehicle was untouched by the evening activity. When he gave me the news, I saw a vision of angels encamped around our car all night. Psalm 91 speaks of His protection.
I felt marvelous that day and the wedding was beautiful. Rochelle was extremely happy that we were there and so were we. It was a lovely ceremony from beginning to end. The reception was Super as well, We agreed that this was probably the best planned wedding we had ever attended. And we also had the chance to spend time with some dear friends.
As we drove to the airport the next morning, we were Blessed by another gentle snowfall.
o say it was worth the trip would be an understatement. This will be one of those events that will remain in our hearts forever.
God is Good!
Choose what Love would do, because Love never fails!!

I woke up this morning with a nasty headache, so I took some medicine and went right back to bed. Woke up again at noon and tried to start my day. I decided to take a stroll down to the clubhouse to get a can of soda. With hearing aids in, I heard the sounds of a busy day. It was garbage day and the trucks were making their rounds through the trailer court dumping the heavy trash bins. As I approached the clubhouse I witnessed one of those cute little lizards scaling the wall. Gazing at the clear blue pool I arrived at the vending machine and dropped my coins in the slot. A cold Mt. Dew dropped down for my enjoyment. Grabbing hold of the cold dewy can I turned back toward home.
With a cool breeze in my face, I couldn't help but have an overwhelming feeling of gratitude toward My Lord, who makes all this happen so perfectly. Even when I have a "nothing" day, there are people all around me, doing their jobs for my benefit. My garbage was picked up, A cold soda was waiting for me within minutes of my home, the pool was waiting for me if I decided to go for a swim later, life is good. And of course God did only what He can do by providing green grass, warm weather and cool breezes. I began to thank Him for all He does for me and US and I felt him hug my heart. Just before I stepped inside my door, He said "your welcome" by dropping gentle drops of rain on my skin like little kisses. God is so Good!

Don't be fooled by the clouds
One of my favorite things to do is to sit in my tire tube and float in the pool on a hot day, with the warm sun shining down on me. I'm always a bit disappointed on cloudy days when a cloud blocks the sun. I know the sun is still there, with all it's brightness and warmth, it's just out of my view for a moment, an hour, or a day.
As I was pondering this the other day, I realized how much that relates to life here on earth. The Son is always here with all His Brightness and Glory!, we just can't always see Him because we let the clouds of life get in the way. Our view is obstructed because we are looking at the troubles we are facing instead of the light that has already conquered them.
The day is coming! And sooner than we think! When the clouds will be removed, and we shall see the SON in ALL HIS GLORY! He will be revealed to all creation!
And on that day our JOY will never cease, not even for a moment!
AH! Good days are ahead!

The JOY of The Lord is your strength!
Do you feel weak and defeated? Has life given you a blow that you can hardly overcome. Then seek your strength. Yes, it is God who is our strength, but we must actively seek Him! Begin to praise Him! Yes, I know you may find it difficult to praise when the world seems to be crumbling around you! I've been there. Many times I am laying in bed in great pain, with the world spinning around me. I just want the ride to stop and let me off. So, I seek my Joy and my Strength which comes through praise. I begin, (reluctantly at best) to thank God for my soft bed, my squishy pillows, my warm house, my cute dog, my caring husband, (anything that I can think of) As I praise, I see more and more blessings I have and my strength returns, the more thankful I become, the stronger I feel. And yes, I do feel powerful again. It works, test it. try it. What have you got to lose? Absolutely nothing, but what you can gain is priceless! Be strong! Be Blessed! Be encouraged! I love you, but not nearly as much as God does! Seek Him and find your Joy and your Strength!

Why are so many bad things happening on the earth?
Well, the obvious answer is because sin entered the world in the garden of eden and things have been spiraling downward ever since. But let's explore it a little deeper. Why did satan tempt Adam and Eve? Why did he cause us to sin? Does he hate us.
The answer is Yes, and No. He doesn't really hate us or even care one way or another about US. Satan hates God! He is adamently against God! And he knows he cannot win in a fight against God. He IS defeated through Jesus! So, like any evil person, he attacks what his enemy loves most. And that is US! Satan is attacking God's family because he knows it hurts God deeply! God Loves us so intimately! We are His family. He gave His only Son to save us! Satan knows all this! And his agenda is to hurt God as much as he can until His time is up!
So, the next question is ....why doesn't God just end it all...Skip to the Book of Revelation...cast satan and his demons into the fiery pit and save us from all this grief and destruction???
Again the answer is God's Great Love for us....yes, His Love!!! He is enduring the pain of watching us suffer (have you ever watched your children in pain....heart wrenching isn't it?) because He is waiting for us to receive Jesus. ALL of us!
King James Bible
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
The day is coming when Jesus will return for us That Great and Terrible day! Great for those who will receive Him and terrible for those who won't. And it will be most terrible for Jesus Himself to have to deny the Kingdom, to those who have denied Him.
So the bottom line is....God Loves us, that's why!

Why Lord, Why?
Sometimes we wonder why. We have worked so hard, tried so long, prayed so hard. But our best intentions & hard work have left us in a pit of disappointed. We feel hurt, rejected & abused. We fall to our knees and cry "Lord, what is going on. I'm trying my best. I'm giving my all! It seems that all my efforts crash & burn" And why are all these bad things happening. It hurts Lord! It hurts! The Lord looked at me with Love. He smiled and said "I'm so glad you've come to Me." You see, I have a very special purpose for you. As you suffer each pain & disappointment, you are being molded into a beautiful person. You are building character. You are being filled with Love and Compassion, which is the essence of Me!" I Am always with you my love. I will never leave you are forsake you. But sometimes I hide Myself so that you can grow. Like a Father who gives His son blocks of wood, hammer & nails. Then he disappears around the corner to watch what his son will build. You need to experiment with the tools I have given you. Try them out, gain confidence in their use. Sometimes you may pound your thumb and it hurts, but don't give up My Child!" You are growing, learning and being perfected!" I am always right there to catch you, hold you and Love you, you just can't always see Me." When you feel pain and disappointment it is growing in you Compassion for others. You are learning to love & accept others through your imperfections. Use what you are learning to reach out to others. That is My greatest pleasure. What good would you be to others if you could only boast success with every endeavor. Rejoice in your imperfections because they are what make you perfect for My purpose! So lift your head high! Trust in My Strength! and remember that ALL THINGS work for Good for those who Love Me and are called according to My purpose!
Just grab the big sticks!
Written March 21, 2010
For those of you who may not know, I have been diagnosed with Meniere's disease. It is a pesky little challenge that, among other things can cause dizziness, loss of balance and head spinning with the slightest wrong move or irritation. I have just had a recent bout that kept me in bed most hours of the day for nearly a week. Today was better. I noticed the sun was shining and it seemed warm outside so I decided to venture outside and do something productive. I was right. It was a beautiful day!
I decided I wanted to pick up the sticks in the yard, but was a bit apprehensive since it requires lots of bending up and down and I wasn't sure how much I'd be able to accomplish. But a little is better than nothing, right? So I headed to the nearest set of trees.
As I started, I grabbed the first sticks I saw. I picked up one and then another and another and realized this was going to be a bigger job than I first anticipated. How would I ever finish? I had to be careful and not move too fast so I wouldn't lose my balance and tumble to the ground. I really wasn't worried about getting hurt by falling, I just didn't want the neighbors to think I was a klutz lol
As I worked, God began to teach me as He often does when I'm working in the yard. He was prodding me along. "Just go after the big sticks" so I would, but I would always grab a few small ones along the way. After getting the biggest sticks, I focused on the medium sized, always grabbing the small sticks & twigs along the way. Each bend up and down left my balance a little more unstable then the one before. But, in time I finished the job and the lawn looked clean & fresh. I carried my bundle to the garage and took a break.
Next, I decided to see if the flower bulbs were coming up on the south side of the house and discovered more sticks under another set of trees. Oy! Did I really want to do anymore. I heard it again "Just pick up the big sticks" Ok, I can do that. The same scene played out. I went after the big sticks, but always grabbed a few small ones along the way. Then of course I reasoned, I can always do one more or two more, or this one or that one.
When I finally realized I had had enough, I decided it was time to stop. I hadn't gotten every last twig, but as I walked away, I heard these words. "You got the big sticks, the important sticks and the ones you left don't really matter that much anyway"
So, the next time you have a job to do, that you think is too much for you to handle. Just get started. Go after the big sticks. You'll grab lots of little ones along the way. And the ones you miss don't really matter much anyway.
And of course...Remember God is with you! He will encourage you every step of the way. And He will give you more strength and ability than you thought you had.
